We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems across our facilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong electrical background who are committed to ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations. The position is paid self employed and requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate
Repair and replace faulty wiring, switches, circuit breakers, and other electrical components using hand tools and power tools
Install new electrical systems or upgrade existing installations in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations
Troubleshoot electrical faults using diagnostic tools and techniques, ensuring quick resolution of problems
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes
Collaborate with other maintenance team members to coordinate repairs and minimise operational disruptions
Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation and company policies
Experience
Proven experience as an Electrician or Maintenance Electrician within an industrial or commercial environment
Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and multimeters
Experience operating power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and effectively
Strong electrical experience with knowledge of wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical codes
Ability to diagnose electrical issues accurately and implement effective solutions promptly
Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Electrical Installation or Maintenance Electrician certification is highly desirable
This role would suit someone looking for a less physical role as the main working day will involve working alongside another electrician using a tablet to conduct inspections and maintenance of hazardous area plant and equipment.
Equipment worked on motors, conveyors, lighting, safety systems, fire alarm systems.
Reactive and preventative maintenance, small scale installations work and repairs .
