We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment, performing routine maintenance, and addressing any technical issues that may arise. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our operations, contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
Repairs and maintenance on shredders, conveyors and other recycling equipment.
Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as needed.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules with minimal disruption to operations.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as required.
Skills
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly.
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and other departments.
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
