Job Description

Sykes Capital is the property investment vehicle of a family office based in Reading. Sykes Capital invests in and manages a wide range of property asset classes, including residential, retail/leisure, and offices, with the majority of assets situated in Reading.

Sykes Capital are looking to employ a further in-house maintenance engineer to join the existing maintenance team of two people.

The day to day maintenance work will be wide ranging, but include:

- Reactive maintenance repairs following reports from tenants.

- Routine basic landscaping / general groundskeeping across various sites.

- Repairs / minor improvements / re-decorations to void properties in between tenancies.

- Other small scale improvement projects across the portfolio.

A caddy van will be provided to the successful candidate to use for travel to / from work along with travel between jobs during the working day.

Along with day to day maintenance work on the portfolio, this role will also involve ad-hoc driving for the board of directors and ownership family to and from work related commitments and personal events in other company vehicles. Although ad-hoc, the driving requirements will require the candidate to have flexibility in their working hours, including at short notice. The successful candidate should also have strong driving skills including the ability to drive into high traffic areas such as central London.

Sykes Capital are a small, tight knit, and nimble team, and it is therefore important that the successful candidate is a strong team player with good communication skills, but also disciplined to be able to work independently when required.

The standard working hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break. 28 days paid holiday (including bank holidays) per year.
