CCL Design Intelligent Decorative Technologies has manufacturing sites in Glasgow, Scotland, and Suzhou, China. Our Glasgow manufacturing site is in the north of the Greater Glasgow area.
Operating globally, our Glasgow team of designers, engineers and production staff, develop and manufacture highly complex decorative plastic components and assemblies for the automotive and consumer sectors.
We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Manufacturing team in our Glasgow factory.
The maintenance Engineer will ensure that our manufacturing process continues to deliver world class products to our customers as efficiently as possible through efficient preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown response and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing, process development and quality control areas.
The engineer will assist in projects to deliver quality, productivity, safety and cost reductions across the site.
The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours that includes capability to work shift patterns, overtime & call outs to support maintenance needs.
Main responsibilities:
Previous experience in facility and manufacturing equipment maintenance
Working knowledge of print lines and UV curing systems
Practical experience of facility & manufacturing equipment maintenance solving issues within a manufacturing environment

Ability to learn and develop current skills and behaviours to progress within the function and lead by example
Ability to set up relationship with current and new vendors to develop processes and systems to drive continuous improvements within the manufacturing process
Implementing and continuously improving safety practices for all maintenance activities
Developing maintenance practices to increase uptime and reduce overall maintenance costs
Planning to ensure safety, labour, materials and supervision are effective during normal maintenance activities, overhauls and breakdowns
Ensuring engineering systems and procedures are in place, which cover safety, environmental and quality requirements of legislation and company policy
Leading capital project installations
Ensure coverage of plant during all available Production hours
Perform Critical reviews of site assets
Implement suitable Preventative Maintenance plans for the plant equipment
Host external auditing bodies as required
Hold and maintain accurate records and reports
Qualifications and experience:
Ideally, the candidate will have worked in a Manufacturing environment
Experience within the Printing industry will be extremely advantageous, particularly knowledge of Printing equipment, Repair and Maintenance
The candidate will possess an HNC/HND or Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering
Have ability to put in place Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules, hence a working knowledge of plant machinery is mandatory, providing a solid link between Production and Maintenance
Electrical and Mechanical Engineering skills for 'hands-on' working
Have excellent knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
Candidate should be self motivated, be able to work unsupervised and have excellent organisational skills
Ability to forward plan, work to tight dead lines and a proactive approach to a busy workload is essential
Good communication skills- works across functions.
Team player and self - starter
The candidate will have good keyboard skills, including good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
