We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical, mechanical and building maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. This role is essential in ensuring our properties remain safe, functional, and comfortable for residents, supporting a high-quality living experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and general facilities.
Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems, mechanical components, and building infrastructure.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies from residents and staff, ensuring minimal disruption.
Carry out minor repair and refurbishment works, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and general upkeep.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, completed repairs, and parts used.
Support the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules to ensure all systems and equipment operate efficiently.
Ensure all work is carried out safely, complying with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Deliver excellent customer service, maintaining positive relationships with residents and staff through professional and timely communication.
Collaborate with team members to develop preventive maintenance schedules and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
Proven experience in a maintenance, facilities, or engineering role - ideally within residential, hospitality, or student accommodation environments.
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of building maintenance issues.
Basic plumbing, carpentry, and decorating skills are advantageous.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
Proficient in English (both written and verbal).
Additional
Company work van provided for travel between accommodation sites and call-outs.
Participation in on-call rota required.
Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
