What are we looking for?

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our night shift team at our factory. You will be responsible for ensuring that production machinery, utilities, and site facilities are maintained to the highest standards to support continuous, safe, and efficient operations during the night shift.

Purpose of the role

Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on production machinery, utilities, and site facilities. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults efficiently to minimize downtime. Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations and food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, GMP). Support production teams by quickly responding to equipment breakdowns and providing technical guidance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and spare parts usage. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and efficiency. Complete shift handovers with day teams to ensure smooth communication and ongoing project completion. Adhere to company policies regarding hygiene, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

Working at Deliciously Ella

We have around 75 team members across two sites. Our factory site near Milton Keynes produces some of our best-loved products like our energy balls, caramel cups, nut butter bites and dipped nuts. Our Head Office is based in the heart of central London, on Tottenham Court Road, and this is where our Leadership Team work, alongside our Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing and People teams.

What you will bring (skills and experience)

Recognized qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled). Previous maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge of health & safety, food safety, and hygiene standards in a manufacturing setting. Ability to work independently on night shifts with minimal supervision. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Training in food safety, HACCP, or relevant industry standards.
