Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

This is a site-based role Monday - Friday 13:00 - 21:30 and is commutable from: Doncaster, Gainsborough, Brigg, Goole, Barton-Upon-Humber, Hull and Caistor. We'll provide you with all the tools to learn, develop the role and yourself and will support with additional training needs where required.

About the role:



The overall focus of the role will be to work seamlessly as a team to not only maintain but also improve the site equipment.

Taking direction from the lead engineer and engineering support manager, this role will consist of a mix of both mechanical and electrical works, including but not limited to general maintenance and repairs throughout the site. Service/maintenance/repairs to machinery such as conveyors, packing machinery, slicing equipment. You'll be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance and offer insights surrounding reliability and continuous improvements to ensure optimum output is maintained.

What a typical day looks like:



Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on a variety of food processing machinery Fabricate and machine components as required Conduct any repairs or modifications to machinery Fit and assemble mechanical components during reactive or preventativemaintenance tasks Work closely with the team to ensure minimal disruption to downtime across the site Carry out electrical fault-finding and root cause analysis to identify reoccurring issues Liaise closely with the planning team, engineering manager and engineering support manager regarding potential issues and rectification methods

Skills



Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Someone that can prioritise and organise workload accordingly Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues. Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to maintenance work. Relevant qualifications or certifications in engineering or maintenance fields are advantageous. Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideally a food processing factory, but this isn't essential Experience working with conveyors and packaging machinery would be a huge advantage but isn't essential Demonstrable experience in both electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs
