Main Purpose of the Role:



Production at our Selby site is a 24/7 operation with automated equipment; the production performance is dependent upon good sound engineering practice as the site has a mixture of new & old technology.

The maintenance engineer will work with the site maintenance engineers on day-to-day tasks and maintenance base activities to ensure continuity within the team and that best practices are deployed.

The shift pattern for this role is 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, and you will be required to attend call out as part of a local agreement.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:



To work under the support & direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure effective & safe maintenance is delivered & recorded timely.

To provide support to production by providing some out of hours telephone support, and where necessary on-site attendance during locally agreed callouts

To efficiently and safely operate all maintenance equipment and tools

To assist the department in achieving a zero-accident rate and annual reduction in number of work-related accidents. To work to actively reduce the number of near misses within the department

Ensure all maintenance paperwork is maintained and up to date, and signed off by relevant personnel where necessary

Maximise the efficiency of the plant using sound engineering practices

Help minimise downtime by responding efficiently to breakdowns and continually working to identify ways to further reduce downtime

Ensuring that appropriate risk assessments are completed before commencing certain maintenance tasks

To demonstrate a proactive involvement in the achievement of the site strategy and departmental targets and KPI's.

To proactively support & keep up with the changes made to technology on site

The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Experience in a similar role in a FMCG production or manufacturing environment.

Core Electrical qualification and experience (5+ years)

PLC - process control knowledge and hands on experience

17th - 18th Edition IEE Regs

IOSH Qualification

Computer literate, including excel and word
