Job Description

We are a commercial, industrial and domestic fencing group of companies involved with the manufacture and supply of fencing and gates.

We are looking to appoint an Experienced Maintenance Engineer on a full-time permanent basis.

Our companies work throughout the Southeast of England and have depots based in West Kent and East Sussex.

Your primary responsibilities will be to:



Carry out regular preventative maintenance on all woodworking machinery throughout the yards. Complete reactive maintenance repairs on a variety of machinery, including small petrol tools. Perform general metal work including welding and metal fabrication tasks to a good standard. Complete minor electrical repairs or liaise with external contractors to complete electrical works. Must be flexible at times with working hours and able work as part of a diverse team. Other associated duties will be required within the role.

Skills and Experience Required:



Experience within a manufacturing Industry, ideally for a minimum of 5 years. Organised, self-motivation able to work with minimal supervision. Good IT and communication skills liaising with staff & suppliers. Experience ability to logically fault find and diagnose, keeping break down times to a minimum. Knowledge of how large machinery operates and able to understand timber construction methods. Good logistical skills Understanding of Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems. Full UK Driving Licence and willing to travel throughout SE region. HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (desirable) Welding qualifications (desirable) Experience using a lathe for machining parts (desirable)

Possibilities:



Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities Supervise and train maintenance staff Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues

Qualifications:



Strong mechanical knowledge and skills Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints Experience with electrical systems, including working with logic controllers Ability to weld and perform basic fabrication tasks Excellent leadership and supervisory skills Strong problem-solving abilities Customer service-oriented mindset Fluent in English, both written and verbal
