Job Description


The Maintenance Engineer will be a key member of the maintenance team working on PPM to plant and facilities, equipment failures and facilities issues and projects such as new equipment installations and site regeneration activities.

  • Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
  • Diagnose breakdown problems
  • Repair or fit new parts and make sure the equipment is working correctly
  • Maintain a responsible attitude to work, and liaise with departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues in a professional manner
  • Maintain and store maintenance tools and equipment to the standard required
  • Provide a timely breakdown response to emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs
  • Work with specialist equipment such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), hydraulic and pneumatic systems, which control machinery in the machine shop, assembly and plating shop area
  • Installation of electrical and / or mechanical plant and equipment i.e. Control panels, fixed electrical installations & testing
  • Support with facilities maintenance i.e. Buildings, roadways, water systems (plant & operations), communication systems
  • Interpreting electrical / mechanical drawings, schematics, and operating instructions to support the planned maintenance schedules
  • Satisfying maintenance database documentation, records, and reporting requirements
  • Assist in the development and implementation of site services procedures, work instructions and safe systems of work
  • Sub-contractor support and RAMS review when required
To be successful in this role of Maintenance Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
  • Minimum of BTECH or apprenticeship level qualification
  • Safety qualification
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Pneumatics, hydraulic experience
  • Tool room machinery, CNC and Mould machines, PLC controls
  • Facilities Maintenance and have proven track record in Electrical building maintenance
  • Understanding of technical, electrical drawings and mechanical drawings
  • Trouble shooting and repairing of equipment, logic thinking to repair root cause of problems to minimise reoccurrence of fault
  • C&G 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
  • IPAF, PASMA
  • To close / update completed PPM tasks on the site computerised maintenance system
  • HVAC & Building Services Engineering experience
