Mekatek Limited - Rhymney - Tredegar

Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting additional Mechanical Fitters/Engineers to our Workshop team in Rhymney. Our workshops provide mechanical, electrical and plant maintenance for our Operations Team.

Essentially, the successful applicant will join the Maintenance Team to ensure that planned preventive maintenance is carried out overnight and to assist with breakdowns and /or blockages etc. to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.

We require someone with ideally at least 2 years' experience

Key responsibilities

Carry out preventative maintenance across the site. Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose. Perform planned and routine maintenance assessments Overhaul, upkeep, and repair of all plant machines to encompass mechanical, electrical and pneumatics activities. Actively promote safe working practices. Work with Contractors where applicable. Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications. Fault finding, testing and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures, and parts Effectively communicate. Keep management and relevant parties' aware, seeking advice and assistance when required. Ensure maintenance records are kept up to date. Continuously look for improvements to the service and for effective good practice within the role.

Ideal applicants should possess some of the following skills:

Proven Mechanical Skills (required) Electrical skills an advantage Experience in conveyors, shredders, and recycling equipment an advantage FLT and MEWP training an advantage - Training available on site Ability to work under pressure and work to deadlines and achieve targets Ability to work unsupervised
Job Type: Full-time

Starting Salary: 34, 320, rising to 35,817.60 after 3 months and 36,244 successful completion of the 6 month probationary period.

Schedule: Monday to Friday Nights 22.00 to 06.30, Monday to Friday Afternoons 14.00 to 22.30 (40 hours per week) Nights plus overtime as required (after 40 hours worked per week)

Pay: 34,320.00-36,244.00 per year
