Summary

We are looking for an experienced

Maintenance Person

to join our team at Sebright Nursing Home. This is a key role in ensuring that our facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained--directly supporting the comfort and well-being of our residents. The role begins with a 3-month probationary period at

12.50 per hour

, increasing to

13.00 per hour

upon successful completion.

Responsibilities

Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment. Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Coordinate with external contractors for specialist repairs when required. Keep accurate logs of maintenance activities and completed repairs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents. Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems as necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance and storage areas. Participate in training to stay up to date with best practices and compliance standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a maintenance role, ideally within a healthcare, residential, or similar environment. Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, with relevant qualifications or certifications. Familiarity with schematics and programmable logic controllers (desirable). Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
