Location: London


Salary starting: 34,083 per annum


Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Maintenance Operative work 5 days out of 7, between the hours of 7:30am - 8:30pm. You will be required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.


We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Operative to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of reactive and preventative maintenance in a selected urbanest community, ensuring a secure, safe, and comfortable living environment for our residents.


Key Responsibilities as the Maintenance Operative:

Manage daily maintenance tasks, including fixing issues like unblocking sinks, repairing damaged paintwork, and other general repairs. Perform regular checks and building walks, logging observations on an iPad and following up on maintenance issues. Inspect communal areas, plant rooms, corridors, and resident rooms, ensuring all areas are maintained to a high standard. Collaborate with the Customer and Night Teams to provide 24/7 support and solutions for our residents. Ensure the safety, comfort, and security of the property, taking pride in its appearance.

Supporting Our Residents:

Deliver excellent customer service while respecting residents' privacy and personal information. Learn about our processes to maintain a safe environment for residents and colleagues.

Being Part of the Team:

Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor to maintain accurate maintenance records and property documentation. Actively contribute to monthly team meetings and support the onboarding of new team members. Participate in training to develop new skills and knowledge, including our IT Resident reporting systems. Respond to issues or incidents promptly, calling emergency services if needed. Assist on-site contractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, following health and safety guidelines. Report any safety hazards and maintain strict health and fire safety standards.

Skills and Experience we're looking for:



Experience in Facilities, Estates, or Maintenance with a proven track record of maintaining properties to an exceptional standard. Knowledge and experience on basic plumbing, plastering, carpentry, painting and repairs Able to help provide the best resident experience with a calm, positive attitude. Sensible under pressure and confident in solving problems and finding solutions. Friendly and welcoming to residents, visitors, and contractors. Strong organizational skills and able to work through tasks within set timeframes. A great timekeeper with a flexible approach to work. Computer literate with a willingness to learn new systems. Experience with large plant systems, BMS systems
