Role



To ensure the smooth functioning of tools, equipment, and the manufacturing site infrastructure. This includes performing routine and reactive maintenance tasks, keeping accurate maintenance and asset registration records, and supporting compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities



Health and Safety



Reporting directly to the Health, Safety and Facilities Manager. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal policies. Support investigation matters. To actively promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.

Tools and Equipment



Inspect, maintain, and repair hand tools, power tools, and mobile plant. Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions with minimal downtime. Liaise with external suppliers or specialists when necessary for complex repairs. Conduct regular preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failure. Maintain spare tooling and parts inventory and re-order as needed.

Site Maintenance Works



Conduct general building and site maintenance (e.g. plumbing, roller shutter doors, painting, carpentry, barriers, fencing, groundworks). Aid in safe and operational production areas, including walkways, production floors, and common areas.

Conduct monthly site audits



Record Keeping



Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work conducted. Log service dates, inspection findings, and corrective actions taken. Track tool usage, inspection intervals, and replacement schedules. Assist in asset management by tagging/scribing and cataloguing tools and equipment.

Compliance



Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies. Support safety audits, inspections and incident reporting by providing relevant maintenance documentation. Report and escalate hazards or non-compliance issues as necessary.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Competencies



Experience within a similar role and or environment is desirable. Strong technical and mechanical aptitude. Ability to read technical manuals and interpret schematic drawings. Attention to detail, with a proactive attitude. High level of communication, prioritisation and organisational skills. Must be able to use Microsoft Office - Word; Excel; Outlook effectively. To be flexible within the role and demonstrate a willingness to support other business activities. IOSH/NEBOSH/Maintenance/Equipment/Tooling qualifications desirable. Must have a keen interest in continuous professional development.
