Qualifications:
Although formal qualifications are not necessary, experience, ability and knowledge in relation to gardening are key requirements of the role.
Be numerate, literate and able to understand and complete paperwork associated with the position.
Key Responsibilities
To undertake all routine gardening work and support with maintenance work when required.
Be well presented and arrive for work in a clean, pressed uniform.
Ensure gardens are consistently of good appearance and are worked and maintained in accordance with the season.
Plan gardens in relation to the season and in good time for application and approval of finances, ordering and delivery.
Be able to carry out all garden work to a good standard. Planting, potting, weeding, pruning, hoeing, digging, edging, lawns, pathways and car parks.
Ensure pathways, entrances / exits and parking areas are safe and clear of litter and debris including seasonal fall, snow and leaves. This will include the timely spreading of salt in icy conditions.
Ensure that tools and equipment are maintained, kept clean and stored safely and in a neat and tidy fashion
Ensure sheds and storage areas are kept clean, neat and tidy and kept locked when not in use
Have good communication skills and be able to liaise with outside service contractors as directed
Notify the Registered Manager or the person in charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.
General:
Ensure the security of the care home is maintained at all times.
Attend all mandatory training and other training as deemed necessary by the Registered Manager.
Be committed to the care home and the dignity and diversity of the residents within our care.
Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
Promote a positive personal / professional profile within the local community, ensuring the good reputation of the care home at all times.
Be able to provide support to other Tanglewood Care Homes as and when required.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

You are important to the home inside and outside for the safety and happiness of residents and staff. You will ideally have some experience dealing with the above but do get in touch regardless.
