We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Individual to ensure the optimal operation and safety of our facilities within a care home environment. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across various systems, requiring an ability to work on your own initiative and ensure regular auditing of the homes buildings and fixtures. The ideal candidate will possess a broad skill set including basic electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance expertise, with experience in working alone as well as in teams. Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
Carry out scheduled maintenance on water temperatures and hot water systems.
Perform residential painting and decorating as needed for facility upkeep.
Read technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
Complete accurate records to track work, inventory, and maintenance history.
Supervise or assist in supervising maintenance contractors to ensure timely completion of tasks and awareness of buildings.
Maintain compliance with safety standards and conduct safety audits regularly.
Lead facilities maintenance projects including upgrades or renovations with attention to quality standards.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
Provide maintenance to Gardens where required and arrange required works and surveying to tree management plans.
Assist with stock take of food supplies and manage ordering of adequate food supplies to the home on a weekly basis.
Experience
Proven experience in facilities maintenance within a Residential / Commercial setting.
Standard electrical and plumbing experience including troubleshooting.
Residential painting, and general repair work.
Familiarity with water auditing and temperature checking.
Ability to understand and operate tools effectively for general repairs.
Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination with Management and Senior Team.
Prior experience in customer service within a maintenance context is advantageous. This role requires a proactive individual with leadership qualities, technical expertise across multiple disciplines, and a commitment to maintaining safe, efficient operations within our facility.
