Job description - Maintenance Person

We are looking for a Handy person to join our care home team.

This is a hands-on role and appropriate experience and relevant qualifications in minor electrical, plumbing, joinery work and decorating is desirable.

The main responsibilities will be to ensure high standards of maintenance throughout the Care Home and its grounds. You will organise and undertake general maintenance which will include basic plumbing, tiling, painting and decorating, grounds maintenance work, general building work, replacing light bulbs, cleaning gutters etc., as well as for testing and recording water temperatures and temperature control systems on all showers and similar items as part of the legionella prevention regime.

The successful applicant will also be responsible, in conjunction with the Home Manager with developing and operating a preventative maintenance schedule.

Responsibilities and duties of the role.

Undertake light maintenance work,

Garden work,

Window cleaning.

Painting and touch up work to the common areas and rooms.

Take samples to hospital and doctor's surgeries.

Collect urgent prescriptions.

Undertake the weekly fire alarm drill,

Compliance checks to ensure all equipment and facilities meet health and safety standards.

Monday - Friday 9:00am - 3:00pm.
