Deanston Care Home

Deanston Care Home is a 32 bedded Georgian House centrally located in Coatbridge and accommodates frail elderly residents and those with dementia.

Over two floors, there is single en-suite accommodation and residents benefit from two spacious communal areas where they can sit and relax or join in with activities.

There is a separate dining room area where the residents enjoy each of their meals.

Further, the home has a large conservatory and a safe garden for residents to enjoy.

Pay - negotiable depending on experience

Job Type - Permanent, Part-time

Shift & Schedule 24 hours per week Monday to Friday

To carry out repairs and maintenance tasks within the limitations of individual capability in all areas of the home as requested by employees and the management, complying with the Care Home's policies and procedures.

To understand and meet statutory and legal requirements such as Food Safety, Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety, and to maintain a safe environment throughout the care home.

To carry out specific maintenance and regular safety checks (including fire) as identified in the maintenance check list, keeping accurate, up to date records of the checks. Reporting any deficiencies to the Home Manager and following these up promptly.

To respect residents at all times, especially their individual right to privacy, dignity and choice, incorporating residents' needs and requirements into your work routine so that the Care Home is pleasant to both live and work.

To liaise with the management ensuring the care home is maintained in good decorative order, the environment is comfortable, friendly and has a 'homely' feel for the residents.

To liaise with external contractors entering the home when carrying out authorised work to ensure that all requirements relating to Health and Safety are fully met.

To be approachable and interactive with colleagues, contributing to team meetings and helping other staff as appropriate.

Your hours of work will usually be from 8am to 4.30pm, but flexibility is required to include any reasonable 8 hour period.

plumbing, carpentry basic electric checking heating controls, Ensure that all lights and heating are working effectively Replacing bulbs as needed General porterage duties and moving of furniture Maintain garden areas, mowing grass, weeding, planting etc Disinfect drains and dustbins regularly Keep paths, entrances free of ice and snow to ensure the safety of residents, staff and visitors. Test fire alarms weekly. Maintain test register Report any defects of building, furniture, fittings and equipment to a member of the management Carry out fire alarm checks, drills, records, etc. Carry out monthly water temperature checks. Check & maintain all windows and door are easily opened / closed Check & maintain door closers. Carry out Premises Audit at least monthly and establish a program of works to maintain the premises. Monitor the work of contractors working on site General maintenance and checks of company vehicles used to transport residents On call duties in cases of maintenance emergencies.

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
