Maintenance Planner - Leading Global Manufacturer

Location: Manchester, Trafford Park

Hours: Mon - Fri (8am - 4pm)

Salary: \xc2\xa340,000 - \xc2\xa345,000 + private healthcare, life assurance, pension up to 5% + career development + more!

Our client is one of the world\'s largest manufacturing companies with well over 100,000 global employees and a history that exceeds 100 years! The Company has numerous manufacturing sites across the globe, this opportunity is based in their Manchester site.

Based within the Maintenance Team, the Maintenance Planner will play a pivotal role in maximising work efficiencies and effectiveness by providing important information for work scheduling and execution. The planner will develop and deploy maintenance job plans which will support the maintenance strategy of the plant\'s assets and equipment, whilst consistently monitoring cost. Applying your technical knowledge, you will identify opportunities to improve processes, as well as develop and implement reliability practices, proactive maintenance, and repairs.

The role:

  • Develop maintenance job plans by providing appropriate information in relation to skills required, number of technicians, estimated job duration, materials, special tools/equipment, work instructions etc.
  • Plan and assist on preventative maintenance and reliability strategies.
  • Review all new work required for planning to ensure proactive work is prioritised accordingly.
  • Being an advocate for CMMS record keeping - ensuring it is updated accordingly (SAP to PM and PdM routes)
  • Liaising with stores to ensure correct materials are available for work planning.
  • Participates in equipment reliability strategy processes to identify the most common failure modes and utilise Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centred Maintenance, 5Why and Management of Change processes to mitigate the causes of equipment failure.
  • Proactively plans and schedules downtime to have minimal disruption to plant production processes.
  • Follow strict H&S processes for all planning activity, ensuring hazards are identified and that you put the necessary precautions in place to mitigate risks.
What you will need:
  • You will possess already a technical qualification (preferably Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent knowledge/qualification (HNC/HNC/NVQ/City & Guilds)
  • Proven experience of hands-on maintenance
  • Competent in navigating/updating CMMS systems (ideally SAP/Maximo)
  • Relevant experience working in a similar role within a similar industrial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build credible relationships with stakeholders in the business.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
  • The ability to operate in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
It would be highly beneficial to your application if you have the following:
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a Process/Chemical environment.
  • Working knowledge/Certification in, condition-based monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, oil analysis, infra-red, ultrasound and motor circuit evaluations)
  • A strong understanding of root cause analysis and failure analysis
