PKL is the premier provider of outsourced catering infrastructure solutions, including the supply of temporary kitchens and catering equipment for hire, major event kitchen complexes, permanent modular kitchen buildings, complete management of catering equipment estate assets, and containerised and modular kitchen facilities for overseas clients.
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Refurbishment / Yard Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role will report directly to the Production Manager and play a crucial part in overseeing the preparation and delivery of large-scale modular kitchen installations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision: Manage and supervise an in-house team of t, including refurb technicians, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
Project Oversight: Assist in the planning and execution of modular kitchen builds in the yard, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Also assist in the planning and execution of the refurbishment of portable kitchen units within the hire fleet as required and to a high standard, to prolong the life of these valuable assets.
Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure all work meets our quality standards and complies with industry regulations.
Coordination: Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues or challenges, providing practical solutions to keep projects on track.
Health & Safety: Ensure all team members adhere to health and safety protocols, maintaining a safe working environment.
Resource Management: Assist in the allocation of resources, including materials and the storage and replenishment thereof. The allocation of modular units for open plan unit builds in the yard and space planning in the yard for those open plan builds.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Production Manager on project progress, team performance, and any issues encountered.
Housekeeping: Assist in general yard duties, keeping the yard tidy, skip emptying, and securing the premises daily. These duties are shared with the Quay Team.
Qualifications:
Proven experience managing people within a construction environment.
Good knowledge of all construction trades, including carpentry and plumbing.
Experience of operating up to 10T forklifts
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Knowledge of construction industry standards and regulations.
Proficiency in using relevant tools and equipment.
Preferred:
Experience in modular construction or kitchen installations.
Familiarity with catering equipment and infrastructure solutions.
