Maintenance Supervisor - Multi-Skilled

Job Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations at our Peterlee facility. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take full ownership of the maintenance department, with the authority to shape and develop it according to their vision. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be technically knowledgeable, organised, and willing to get their hands dirty when required.

Duties

Supervise, coordinate, and support the maintenance team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Manage maintenance schedules and oversee the execution of preventive maintenance programmes. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and inventory levels for parts and supplies. Provide training and support to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in maintenance practices. Assist the Operations Manager in ensuring compliance with H&S regulations across the site. Drive continuous improvement throughout the department, applying the principles of lean manufacturing and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

HNC or above in an engineering discipline 5+ years of post-apprenticeship experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role. Proven experience in a supervisory/leadership role within a maintenance environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Self-motivated and able to work independently. An understanding of the health and safety requirements in a factory setting.

Desirable

IOSH or NEBOSH health and safety qualifications Experience in the waste management sector Experience with extrusion equipment
