Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with the flexibility to meet the needs of the organisation, including supporting an on call rota

The Role
We are looking for a hard-working, well organised individual to manage our maintenance team to help ensure the buildings and grounds of Katharine House are tidy and in good repair.
You will be required to travel to carry out preventative and reactive maintenance for all our sites, which include the Hospice, Business Centre and 15 retail premises. This is a physically demanding role, involving regular moving and handling tasks. Experience of basic plumbing and carpentry would be an advantage.
Please note, an enhanced DBS clearance will be required for this role
A full driving license is required as you will be required to drive our company vehicles, as well as flexible approach to work with the ability to work within in a team or on their own initiative.

Key Area Responsibilities & Outputs
Team Leadership
Effectively manage all aspects of maintenance for the whole organization
Liaising with H&S manager and staff regarding maintenance requirements
Ensuring all maintenance matters, emergencies and repairs are dealt with appropriately
Carrying out routine maintenance inspections for all locations
Controlling expenditure of materials within the maintenance budget
Liaising with external contractors
Supervise, train and support maintenance operatives
Assign daily tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion
Facility Management
Maintain equipment logs and service records
Co-ordinate purchasing of equipment when needed
Working with external contractors for projects
Enforce health and safety policies and conduct regular inspections
Skills
Experience in maintenance
Strong leadership and communication
Ability to diagnose and repair systems
Personnel
Demonstrate a commitment to their own professional development - appropriate to skill and experience.
Take all measures to ensure the safety and welfare of all patients and staff, having due regard to the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Participate in appraisal and undertake appraisal of junior staff.
