Position Overview:
The role of Maintenance Technician requires a highly organised, detail-oriented, self-motivated professional individual who can represent Kelmore in a positive and professional manner. In this role, you will be working closely with the Engineering Manager to assist in achieving the engineering strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and values. Key responsibilities include maintaining Kelmore's assets and facility, executing maintenance schedules, inventory control and time management. Success in this role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Main Duties:
Adhere to the preventative maintenance strategy for plant and machinery, ensuring that all work is completed on time.
The execution of updates, modifications, and upgrades to plant and machinery as required and agreed with the Engineering Manager.
Work towards task with the site's annual maintenance plan, ensuring the effective use of resources and adherence to schedules.
Respond to resolving machinery and equipment breakdowns, including fault diagnosis and repairs.
Commit to direction from the Engineering Manager to carry out scheduled work tasks, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Monitor inventory and ordering of stock, components, and fittings, ensuring materials are available when needed.
Maintain accurate service records, equipment history reports, and performance data for all machinery.
Ensure adherence to lockout tagout procedures, PTW, and risk assessments for all maintenance and engineering work.
Foster clear communication with all team members and departments, ensuring timely and accurate updates on project status.
Attend training when required to enhance the strength of the engineering team.
Participate with the engineering team to cover production line break times when required.
Drive continuous improvement, supporting and participating in relevant project groups and process optimisation activities.
Take part in investigations, focusing on identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Ensure that all engineering procedures and health and safety protocols (including SOPs, fire evacuation, first aid, environmental policy, COSHH, LOTO, PTW, and RA) are understood and adhered to.
Responsibilities:
Work within the engineering department supporting the effective and efficient operation of the Kelmore plant, including production, packaging, and logistics.
Ensure that all equipment and machinery meet quality control standards for production and filling.
Ensure full compliance with the Company's Health & Safety policy, including the use of PPE and uniform where required.
Adhere to and maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment that supports operational efficiency and safety standards.
Monitor production and quality to ensure compliance with relevant QC requirements, reporting issues to senior management as needed.
Work with other departments to contributing technical expertise and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Commit to the training and development.
Participate within project teams and initiatives, driving continuous improvement and innovative engineering solutions across the facility.
Ensure that all engineering-related documentation, procedures, and policies are up to date and compliant with industry regulations.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Mechanical and electrical knowledge (time served and multi-skilled background essential).
Scada and Siemens PLC experience desirable.
Project improvement work.
Ability to manage workloads and work effectively under pressure.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to Health & Safety and continuous improvement.
