Job Summary:



The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role within the Production Department, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of equipment and facilities. Key responsibilities include responding promptly to equipment breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and carrying out routine tasks to support departmental efficiency and overall site performance. In addition to your primary maintenance duties, you will also provide support in the warehouse as needed, contributing to the Organisation's overall productivity.

Job Responsibilities:



Maintenance Responsibilities



Respond promptly and effectively to machine breakdowns, resolving immediate issues and, where possible, implementing long-term solutions to reduce recurrence. Carry out routine preventative and planned maintenance tasks on equipment within the manufacturing environment. Support the achievement of production targets by contributing to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) and lean manufacturing initiatives. Perform tooling changes and routine system maintenance as required. Assist in developing and standardising maintenance procedures and routines. Ensure essential maintenance parts and materials are adequately stocked to minimise downtime. Liaise with external suppliers and service providers when necessary. Take part in root cause analysis (RCA) of quality issues to drive improvements. Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

Warehouse Support Responsibilities



Receive and inspect incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation of deliveries. Book stock into the company system in accordance with established procedures. Manage the physical movement and correct placement of stock within designated warehouse locations. Maintain accurate stock rotation and inventory records. Accurately pick, pack, and prepare goods for dispatch, including generating delivery notes. Coordinate all relevant documentation required for outbound shipments. Pick and issue stock for Works Orders using the company system and record the return of WIP (Work in Progress) items once approved by Quality Control. Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organisation. Participate in the annual stock take. Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with the company's ISO procedures.

Personal Specifications:



Recognized Engineering apprenticeship, preferably at NC/HNC level, in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Experience with electromechanical systems Strong understanding of pneumatic systems Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Team player with effective communication skills at all levels Keen interest and solid understanding of engineering principles Excellent organizational and time management skills Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks
