Elis Fakenham are looking for a

Maintenance Technician

to join our friendly and hardworking team. You'll be the go-to person for keeping things running smoothly, from replacing belts to general routine maintenance - the kind of work that keeps the cogs turning.


You'll report directly to our Senior Engineer and play a key role in ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard and on time. Whether it's fixing a breakdown, carrying out planned maintenance, helping with new equipment installs, or assisting with site improvements, you'll be part of it all.


We believe work should work for you too, so we offer the following:

Consistent Monday to Friday working - no rotating shifts! 8-hour shifts with a regular pattern (14:00-22:30) Just one Saturday morning every 3 weeks (06:00-12:00)

Your Mission at Elis



Carry out all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks on time, feeding back to improve future schedules and processes. Ensure smooth daily handovers with the opposite shift, sharing key updates and working practices. Support continuous improvement across plant, machinery and maintenance activity, working with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to resolve long-standing issues. Help improve equipment performance, reliability and running costs, including reducing downtime and consumable usage. Respond to breakdowns and carry out repairs safely and promptly, keeping Production informed of progress. Complete remedial works and report any safety risks, equipment faults or site issues to the Engineering Manager. Ensure contractors are working safely on site and are following all Health and Safety procedures. Follow all site Health and Safety policies, report incidents or near misses, and use safety equipment as required. Maintain clean and safe working areas, with good housekeeping standards. Communicate clearly with Production teams and co-workers to support smooth day-to-day operations. Take care of company assets and equipment, ensuring everything is well maintained and efficient.

What will make you stand out?



Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Electrical Installation 18th Edition. Electrical Installation Maintenance. Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance. Electronic fault finding to component level. Must possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G). Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred. Preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.
