A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager, you'll be part of a close-knit team that feels like family. We work together to deliver outstanding service to our guests, handling every task with efficiency, care, and a smile. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Carrying out regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on hotel systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment Following a robust preventive maintenance program to keep issues small before they become big Responding to guest requests for room repairs, from fixing leaks and HVAC problems to replacing light bulbs and tackling minor electrical work Ensuring all maintenance work meets safety codes and company standards Coordinating with hotel staff and management to keep everything running smoothly Liaising with external service engineers for breakdowns and scheduled servicing, learning from them to grow your own skills Understanding all hotel systems and acting quickly when issues arise Working closely with departments like Housekeeping, Leisure, and Food & Beverage to support their maintenance needs Making sure outside contractors meet our quality standards Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

At Holiday Inn Express Fleet, we hire for personality and potential, but ideally you'll bring:

Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within hospitality Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems Ability to read schematics and technical manuals Experience handling maintenance projects Proficiency in English (spoken and written) A can-do attitude and willingness to jump in where needed Great communication skills and a genuine team spirit
