Maintenance Technician



Hours: 15 Per Week



Salary: 11,060.40 Per Annum (27,651 FTE)





We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician with general building, carpentry and plumbing experience to join our team, providing a pro-active, customer focused service across our organisation.

Role Overview:





As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in providing a comprehensive maintenance service to the main Hospice building and leased/owned buildings which form part of the estate. The Technician will work in partnership with the Facilities Team to ensure such buildings remains safe, functional, and welcoming for our patients, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for carrying out repairs, general maintenance tasks, and supporting the upkeep of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:



Perform general maintenance and repair tasks across the hospice, including plumbing, electrical, and heating work. Carry out regular inspections of the facilities (including fire alarms, lighting systems, portable appliances, and water services) to identify and address any issues promptly. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, keeping accurate records of maintenance activities. Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required. Carry out safety and basic maintenance checks on St Luke's vehicles.

Key Skills and Experience:



Relevant recognised Level 3 Maintenance Training Scheme or appropriate City & Guilds Certificate/NVQ in Electrical Maintenance and Installations. General building, Carpentry and Plumbing experience. Basic IT skills. Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable, professional manner.
