Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician on Nights to join a leading manufacturer Edgetech, based in Coventry, West Midlands- a subsidiary of the US-based Quanex group.

Edgetech is an industry leading manufacturer and supplier of high-quality double glazing spacer bars, designing and supplying products throughout the Glazing industry to IGU Manufacturers, Installers and fabricators, Architects, and trade outlets catering across the entirety of England.

Purpose of the role:

The Maintenance Technician will provide planned and reactive support to the manufacturing unit and operational needs of production, warehousing, and site facilities.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Respond to reactive breakdowns, carry out fault finding, diagnostics, repair and monitoring of equipment Implement agreed modifications to plant to increase efficiency and reduce downtime Undertake planned preventative maintenance to machinery and plant using CMMS software Provide recommendations for continuous improvements Operate production and non-production plant to enable fault finding Support project installation work from initial concept to commissioning Communicate with contractors and suppliers Maintain and enforce health and safety and safe working regulations

What You'll Need:

Essential

Mechanical & electrical experience (minimum 3 years) PLC I/O diagnostics Ability to read technical drawings and manuals Problem solving and troubleshoot skills Ability to work independently Computer literate (Microsoft applications) Word/Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Flexible, proactive and a team player

Desirable

IOSH trained Welding/Fabrication experience PLC programming knowledge First Aid trained

Hours of Work

This role is for a permanent night shift position, Sunday - Thursday 21:45 p.m. - 06:00 a.m.
