Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled
Maintenance Operative
to join our team. This role involves general maintenance across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and supporting project work. You will play a key part in creating safe, functional environments for our staff and service users.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out general maintenance tasks across school, care homes, and office settings.
Inspect, repair, and maintain
fire doors
in line with regulatory standards.
Perform
window replacements
,
painting and decorating
, and minor carpentry tasks.
Assist with project work, including refurbishments and installations.
Fit household items and ensure all fixtures are safe and secure.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any compliance issues.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in general maintenance roles within a
regulated environment
(e.g., education, health, or social care).
Knowledge and practical experience with
fire doors
,
window replacement
, and
painting/decorating
.
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and working with
vulnerable people
.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Desirable:
Experience in minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
