The Role

As a Facilities/Maintenance Operative, you'll play a key role in maintaining our factories environment and supporting production teams by carrying out general repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of the site.

You'll ensure equipment and facilities are in good working order, respond to maintenance issues promptly, and help maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on factory buildings, machinery, and services.

Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.

Maintain and repair site infrastructure such as lighting, doors, shutters, and ventilation systems.

Ensure the yard, waste areas, and factory surroundings are safe and well-maintained.

Record maintenance activities and report hazards or defects.

Support fire alarm and emergency lighting tests, and assist with compliance inspections.

Work closely with production and logistics teams to minimise downtime.

About You

We're looking for a practical, hands-on person with good problem-solving skills and a strong safety focus.

Essential:

Basic mechanical, electrical, or building maintenance knowledge.

Ability to carry out safe and effective repairs.

Awareness of health and safety standards and procedures.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable:

Previous experience in a manufacturing or facilities maintenance role.

Forklift licence or willingness to train.

Basic qualification in maintenance or building services.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.75 per hour
