Job Overview

We are seeking a versatile and skilled Handy Person to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks across our facilities. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical knowledge and excellent customer service skills. The Handy Person will ensure that all equipment and premises are kept in optimal condition, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.

Skills required:

Plumbing, Joinery, Plastering, Painting and Decorating, Carpentry. Health and Safety knowledge pertaining to building maintenance.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and facilities Repair and replace damaged or faulty equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems Assist with electrical work, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken ensuring all records are legible Provide excellent customer service and communicating effectively with service users and their visitors Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment Protect the rights of Service Users and take responsibility for supporting and safeguarding their welfare Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management To maintain maintenance skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as may, from time-to-time, be required in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge

Qualifications

Proven experience in maintenance roles with good maintenance knowledge Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards Service Users and colleagues Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: 12.21 per hour
