Founded in 1997, VacSax is the UK\'s leading supplier and manufacturer of disposable suction systems. VacSax is part of DCC Vital and is based in Plymouth employing over 60 people, VacSax has the largest and most comprehensive product range available in the disposable suction market. The business has an innovative and expanding product base and a strong track record of growth. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

The Role

As a Maintenance/Production engineer you will report to the engineering manager.

You will be directly responsible for the safe and continuous operation of equipment in the factory using TPM program.

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday although flexibility is required as you may be required to work outside of the standard hours according to business needs.

Salary up to \xc2\xa335,000 depending on experience.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

• Planning and carrying out scheduled maintenance
• Diagnosing faults
• Repairing equipment and testing repairs
• Driving forward process improvements
• Planning for and installing new machinery
• Responding to emergencies when on shift and outside of normal working hours as and when required
• Creating maintenance procedures
• Supervising contractors where applicable
• Ordering specialist components, fixtures or fittings.

• A sound electro-mechanical background.
• Use of Microsoft office and TPM software
• Knowledge of PLC and programming
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strict adherence to Health & Safety protocol
• Minimum 5 years\' experience in a similar (high volume manufacturing) environment.

• 18th Edition electrical installation
• Knowledge of 5S, SMED, visual factory and lean manufacturing

• Work to deadlines, under pressure and on own initiative
• Communicate effectively at all levels
• Be flexible and pro-active
• Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills
