Major Works Manager

Are you an experienced Major Works Manager looking for a new role? Do you have experienced working in the housing sector?

Our client, a local authority based in North West London, is looking to recruit an experience Major Works Manager on a permanent contract.

The successful candidate will commission and contract manage planned multi-million pound services (budget circa \xc2\xa312m), maintenance and construction work that achieves agreed outcomes for the Council, customers and stakeholders and that meet the Council\'s objectives and affordability targets by improving value for money.

You will be accountable for appropriate project outcomes with regard to: feasibility studies, brief development, design, procurement, delivery, finance & budgeting, cost control and quality of work on the full range of construction and maintenance services and the provision of advice and contract management from feasibility study to final account of major works projects.

The Major Works Manager will provide up-to-date building surveying and technical advice and guidance to the Major Works & Refurbishment Team, the Compliance Team, other sections of the council, members and customers to ensure decisions and recommendations are appropriate and well informed.

What you will need to succeed in this role:

• Previous experience working as a Major Work, Planned Works or Capital Works Manager.
• Experience working in the housing sector, ideally for a local authority.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proven experience of working in the capacity of a building surveyor or similar discipline in the Housing/ Property Sector in relation to managing major works projects
• Experience of consulting and communicating with clients and customers to provide advice on range of building related matters.
• Strong budget and financial management experience
• Experience of developing performance and monitoring systems for budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, volume performance and KPIs
