Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Male Healthcare Assistant to join our team on a basis of 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to individuals in home care settings. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals. A valid driving licence is essential for this role, as it involves travel to clients' homes.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, companionship and meal preparation. Implement and follow care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring the highest standard of care is maintained. Communicate effectively with clients and their families to provide support and reassurance. Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate records of care provided and assist in administrative tasks as required. Support clients with mobility and transport needs, including driving them to appointments when necessary. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive approach to client care. Support with medication administration where required and reporting any concerns.

Experience

Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in home care or care homes, is advantageous but not essential. Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and colleagues. Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining records and documentation is beneficial. A caring attitude and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for clients are essential traits for success in this role.
