S/he is required to support and encourage the college's ethos and its objectives, policies and procedures as agreed by the governing body.
S/he shall uphold the college's policy in respect of safeguarding and child protection.
S/he may be required to perform any other reasonable tasks after consultation.

Key accountabilities:
To carry out any other duties as may, from time-to-time, be required by the Business Manager.
To participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
The post will involve working across the two college sites as well as accompanying students on trips in the community and work experience placements.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
The ability to communicate in a variety of formats clearly and effectively, targeted appropriately to different audiences.
The ability to use their initiative and work under pressure.
A willingness to develop an understanding of SEND and the education system
Core duties:
Support students to learn, develop and grow through responding appropriately to their needs and ensuring their safety whilst accessing learning.
Encourage students' interaction and communication throughout the college day including taught sessions.
Attend to students' personal care needs and administer medication as required.
Prepare the learning environment, as directed, for student lessons.
Support the Teacher in managing student behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate.
Be aware of student targets and progress and play an active role in assessing these.
Prepare, maintain and use equipment/ resources required to meet lesson plans / relevant learning activities and assist students in their use, as directed.
Assist with the supervision of students out of lesson times including before and after college and at lunchtimes.
Be aware of and comply with all college policies and procedures, in particular safeguarding, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person in accordance with policy.
Contribute to the overall ethos / aims of the college and attend all necessary training.
Enhanced DBS is required, this will be arranged by the college.
Notes:
Ensure those areas of the college environment within the scope of the Learning Coach duties conform to the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974, and the Fire Regulations.
Lone Working
The post holder is to observe the recommendations detailed in the lone working policy. Due care and attention should take place at all times and any emergencies or major incidents are to be reported to the Principal as soon as possible.
Training
The post holder needs to keep up to date with legislation and training. Courses may need to be undertaken from time to time and hours may be varied to accommodate such training.
