Role Description - Male Support Worker

Gray Healthcare are recruiting a Male Support Worker within the Crewe area to support a gentleman in their 30's who has a diagnosis of Learning Disabilities, Autism and Epilepsy.

He lives independently in his own home receiving 2:1 support 24 hours a day. The gentleman we support has a good sense of humour, enjoys going out in the car, and going bowling.

He is supported by a

male only team

on mixed shifts of days and waking nights. We are recruiting

drivers only

for this role as the individual we support will have a mobility vehicle to access the community.

Male Support Worker Required Skills and Experience

Social care experience, ideally within Autism and Epilepsy

Full Driving License ESSENTIAL

Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities. Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging. Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments. You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months.

This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references

Hours

24-hour contract - 2 x 12 hour days shifts, from 8am to 8pm per week (weekend cover every other week). Plus 2 sleep shifts per week, from 8pm to 8am, paid @ 100 per sleep.

Induction and Training

We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Company induction, systems, and Medication.) Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominate approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
