Role Overview
We are currently seeking a Male Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This full-time role involves working across both our Semi-Independent (16+) Supported Accommodation and our 18+ Shared Accommodation services. The successful candidate will act as a Key Worker, supporting young people and adults in developing essential life skills, engaging with education/employment, and working toward independence in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily support and guidance to young people aged 16+ and adults aged 18+ within semi-independent and shared accommodation settings.
Act as a Key Worker, developing and maintaining personalised support plans.
Encourage and support service users in developing life skills, including budgeting, cooking, self-care, and time management.
Support access to education, employment, training, and community resources.
Build professional, supportive relationships with the young people.
Monitor progress and maintain accurate records and reports.
Liaise with social workers, education providers, health professionals, and other external agencies.
Uphold safeguarding practices and ensure the safety and welfare of residents at all times.
Attend team meetings, training, and supervision sessions.
Working Hours
Primarily Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Flexibility is required to occasionally accommodate the needs of the service or residents, which may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
Requirements
Must be male - this is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
Experience supporting young people or vulnerable adults in residential or supported living settings.
Understanding of safeguarding, boundaries, and professional conduct.
Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Willing to work flexibly as required by the needs of the service.
A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
