A driver is required for this role, as transportation to day programs and activities is essential.
Duties
Provide one-to-one support during daily routines and community outings.
Transport the individual to scheduled day activities, programs, appointments, and recreational outings.
Assist with meal preparation and support dietary needs.
Help maintain a clean and safe living environment, including light housekeeping tasks.
Offer companionship, engage in meaningful interactions, and support emotional wellbeing.
Follow individualized care plans and accurately document activities and progress.
Assist with mobility or safe transfers if needed.
Communicate and collaborate with family members and/or healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
Skills & Qualifications
Valid driver's licence (required)
-- ability to drive is essential.
First Aid and CPR certification (required).
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset.
Strong caregiving skills, including meal preparation, monitoring, and maintaining a safe environment.
Background in caregiving, social work, nursing, or related fields is beneficial but not required.
Patience, reliability, and a genuine commitment to supporting another person's quality of life.
