Situated in the heart of Mallorca’s capital city, the urban distillery is the first craft distillery in Palma. With a bespoke 500 litre copper pot still, Mallorca Distillery produces award winning premium organic craft spirits, ensuring intricate care and attention during every distillation, with an unparalleled focus on quality.
The distillery has a commitment to the island and its environment working with local farmers, ingredients are locally and ethically foraged throughout the year, allowing for the natural flavours of the island to be represented in each bottle.
These unique local organic botanicals capture the spirit of Mallorca, gifting a taste of this beautiful island in every bottle.
We are a relatively new distillery, but that has not stopped us from showcasing our fantastic award-winning products internationally. Our approach to sustainability is extremely important and we highly value the input of each team member. Anything you think you know about distilling and the paperwork to go with it, will be completely different here in Spain, so you will be tested! But we have a good grasp on it all within the distillery, so will get you up to speed quickly.
The job holds a multitude of roles as we are a small team, but you will mainly focus on the most important aspect of our business, distilling. As a minimum you must hold 3+ years’ experience in the distilling industry.
We are looking for a very hands-on distiller. Someone who goes that extra mile, who pays attention to detail, and most importantly someone who cares about their job. We are looking for a team member to become part of our family and grow with us over the coming years as we expand. You will be responsible for the following:
Day-to-day distillery operations
Planning of distillation and bottling schedules
Management of Tax Authority paperwork including EMCS and other record keeping
Inventory management and stock control
Delivering finished product in line with Company quality standards
Accountable for site functionality and operations
Demand planning and order dispatch
Continuously looking at the improvement of distillery operations and activities
Undertake new and innovative product development
Ensure all HACCP regulations and legislations are adhered to
Foraging of local botanicals
Island events when applicable
Distillery tours when applicable
3-5+ years’ experience in distilling and managing production is essential.
Ideally experience across different spirit styles, as this is something we would like to expand into.
Degree or further education in distilling and/or other relevant field
High level of mathematics and experience working with Tax Authority paperwork.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Confident in working with a small team, as well as training new employees
Excellent record keeping skills, organised, efficient and able to work on your own initiative
A keen eye for detail. Appreciates that capturing the small details can make a big difference in the final result.
Spanish language skills are an advantage but not essential, but to have a willingness to learn.
It is not necessary to hold Spanish residency as the company will help you with the process of relocation (if necessary) and obtaining all of the relevant paperwork to be able to work and live within the EU.
