As a Management Accountant, you'll support the company with a wide scope of numbers, from our managed hotels to our head office function. You will lead on the delivery of our finance services, across the Brightstar Group. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly support across the

Key responsibilities of this role
People
Act as an ambassador of Brightstar, thinking creatively about how we can develop a positive working relationship, both internally & externally.
Pay close attention to Brightstar's direction of travel, supporting delivery of finance plans that will support us in delivering our vision & strategy.
Seek out & shout about opportunities to enhance our stakeholder experience, focussing on making our internal and external stakeholders feel valued & supported.
Take the lead on internal communications, staying close to key business activities & ensuring they are shared in a timely & clear way in the right forum.

Act as a trusted partner to Leaders & Managers, providing guidance on finance related matters in a comprehensive way.

Quality
Help shape a best-in-class finance function that leaves our internal customers feeling like we're easy to do business with & satisfied with their experience.
Identify opportunities to improve finance services, processes & tools, paying close attention to need areas & feedback.
Identify areas where systems & processes can be enhanced, digitalising wherever possible to optimise workflows.
Work with our external payroll provider to ensure optimum payroll processing, and comprehensive insights on payroll reporting
Analyse finance data to identify trends, measure impact & make recommendations for positive change.
Profit
Support our head office function with the preparation of the monthly management accounts and balance sheet. But also take the lead on the transactional elements, like processing our head office debtor and creditor transactions, FP&A; forecasting & budgeting, and ad hoc review of performance.
Manage the intercompany transactions within the group, ensuring regular review and correct posting of cross entity transactions.
Work closely with Operational Leadership Team to create the right mix of challenge and support to accurately forecast requirements & deliver on budgets.
Operate as a business partner to the hotel teams and bridge the day-to-day relationship with our third-party accounting provider, our leadership team and the hotel.
Provide training and guidance to hotel teams on financial processes, controls, and reporting standards.
Support the financial performance of our managed hotels through a wide scope of review and challenge, from reviewing the PMS transactions at hotel level, to reviewing management accounts and balance sheets, as well as liaising with 3rd party auditors and accountants.
Optimise structures for agility & growth, leading changes with empathy and a strong focus on clear & effective communication.
Ensure that our finance related activity falls within our annual budget & activities capitalise on our investment
Support with Preparation and review of VAT returns and other statutory filings as required, to a high level of accuracy and within the required timeframes.
Support the procurement function with reporting and administrative tasks of our procurement portal.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Responsible Business
Ensure compliance with GDPR in all data handling and finance activity.
Promote sustainable practices by recommending digital-first solutions and reducing unnecessary print materials.
Report any issues promptly and accurately.
Treat all colleagues, suppliers, and hotel teams with professionalism and respect.
Complete all E-learning and mandatory training within required timeframes.
Act as a point of contact for assigned hotels, responding to & anticipating their needs.
Produce reports & suggest improvements based on data.
Monitor compliance with company policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements across all managed hotels.
Skills and Qualifications
Demonstratable experience in a finance/accounting role in a multi-site environment (hospitality experience desirable but not essential).
An influencer who can articular their view while also being respectful of others.
A team player who thrives from building relationships at all levels.
A flair for continuous improvement, in both the 'hard stuff' (systems, data, processes), as well as the 'soft' stuff (culture, employee experience).
Positive & proactive, and able to decipher the priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Tech savvy with the ability to implement & maintain multi-site related finance software & integrate wherever possible.
Experience with Accounting, Payroll, and Reporting systems.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data & report insights clearly.
Degree in accounting, Business or related field (preferred).
(Part)- qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA), or qualified by experience
Ability to travel to hotels, as well as come to Brightstar HQ in Birmingham on a bi-weekly basis.
