Job Description

The Management Accountant acts as a strategic financial partner across two distinct entities, bridging the gap between high-level financial reporting and day-to-day operational efficiency. The role is focused on driving continuous improvement through rigorous cost control, stock valuation, and collaborative decision-making with the Senior Management Team.
The core of the role involves high-level analysis and hands-on operational support:
Financial Integrity: Performing regular P&L and Balance Sheet reviews and maintaining robust financial stewardship over business-wide projects.
Operational Optimisation: Collaborating with teams to control costs, improve sales margins, and ensure accurate stock costing vital task in a retail production environment.
Strategic Planning: Managing budgets, strategic forecasts, capital expenditure (CapEx), and competitor analysis.
New Revenue Streams: Providing financial oversight for the E-commerce section and analysing new retail sales channels.
Systems Development: Working with IT to evolve the ERP system to improve data quality and optimise production output.
Autonomy within the roleCommercial exposure
The ideal candidate is a proactive "relationship builder" who balances technical expertise with emotional intelligence:
Qualified: Must hold an appropriate accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc.).
Experience: Proven history of acting as a "value-add" partner rather than just a back-office accountant, preferably with experience in a retail or operational setting.
