ROLE OVERVIEW



The role involves collaborating with the finance team to provide comprehensive financial data to community managers, the senior leadership team and trustees. You should demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn while delivering financial analyses and generating management information for non-finance users. Additionally, you will support the senior finance team in producing consistent and reliable non-financial organisational data.

This position is based at the London central office, where hybrid working patterns are available. Occasional visits to operating sites may be required.

This role will report directly to the Senior Finance Team (SFT).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



DATA PROCESSING DUTIES



Be able to deputise and provide absence cover for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll Leads. Develop skills to facilitate the production of Management Accounts (acquiring the OJT skills, education and capabilities necessary to become the next Management Accountant). Support year-end processes and liaise with Auditors. Liaise with other central office teams and support the SFT with business case development. Assist with external compliance for various regulatory bodies.

BUSINESS PARTNERING:



Participate and assist in business partnering meetings for:
i) Management accounts review with registered managers

ii) Budget build and scenario testing

PROCUREMENT



Support the processing of procurement and contract management.

SYSTEMS



Cultivate curiosity and develop capabilities for cloud-based accounting and other ERP/CRM software applications. Stay informed about data security considerations and ongoing regulatory compliance in line with UK practices for finance operations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION



ESSENTIAL CRITERIA



A relevant professional accounting training qualification (NVQ level IV) is essential Exposure to payroll processing Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and a diverse workload Excited to develop communication skills, with the ability to present numbers to non-financial colleagues A team player with a flexible "can do" attitude, taking initiative to solve problems Good and developing numeracy, literacy, analytical and communication skills Competent in Microsoft 365, particularly Office, SharePoint and Teams

DESIRABLE CRITERIA



XERO accounting system experience is advantageous

KEY TERMS OF ROLE



Salary: 27,000-32,000 depending on qualifications and experience at the time of appointment. A cost-of-living increase is usually awarded annually. Other increases will be at the discretion of the Director of Finance, subject to performance and training advancements. This role will be supported by an accountancy training "day release" style package paid for by Keychange, aiming for a CCAB qualification within 2-3 years. To be accepted, a supplemental training contract must be signed and returned. The role is based on a 35 hour work week. Annual leave entitlement is 25 days plus UK bank holidays.
