We are a well-established distributor based in the North West of England, supplying a wide range of products to the construction sector. As part of our growth plans, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated Management Trainee to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or ambitious individual looking to gain hands-on experience in operations, logistics, production, and supply chain management within a fast-paced warehouse and production environment. You will work closely with the Group Operations Manager as well as the Production and Buying team to support the day-to-day running of our busy facility. You will be exposed to all areas of the business, with a particular focus on operational efficiency, facilities management, health and safety compliance, and procurement processes.
This role offers the opportunity to gain recognised Health & Safety certification, while building a solid foundation for a long-term career in operations or supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Group Operations Manager in the daily oversight of warehouse and production activities.
Monitor and promote health and safety standards across all operations, working towards formal certification.
Contribute to the updating, implementation and compliance of quality assurance procedures.
Get involved in general warehouse and facility operations to fully understand the end-to-end process.
Help implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Assist the Production team with scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource planning.
Work with the Buying team to ensure timely procurement and stock control.
Support with data collection, reporting, and analysis to aid decision-making.
Assist with supplier and customer liaison as required.
About You:
Recent graduate or equivalent level of education (Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related fields welcomed).
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Strong self-motivation and a proactive attitude.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Eagerness to learn and contribute across multiple business functions.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, Outlook).
Interest in pursuing health and safety certification.
Any experience (e.g. through internships, placements, or part-time roles) in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment would be welcomed but not essential.
Full UK driving licence.
