Lumbards is a long established and progressive business located in the heart of Ashbourne the gateway to the Peak District. Originally starting out as a petrol station & garage back in the 1920's the business has evolved over the years to become a diverse retailer of Fuel, Convenience & News, Car Parts & Accessories, Cycling Repairs & Accessories, DIY & Homeware, Plumbing & Electrical, Home & Garden, Animal Supplies & Feed, Camping & Outdoors, Vehicle Hire and Bottles Gas & Solid Fuel.
Operating from our existing 5,000ft shopfloor & warehouse we currently stock around 7,000 product lines and are currently expanding our ranges and floorspace at pace.
The business has a separate site for vehicle MOT's, servicing and repairs also located in Ashbourne.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a Manager to join our management team reporting to the business owner.
As Manager you will not only ensure our high levels of customer service are maintained and enhanced but also assist in making adjustments to existing processes and procedures to pave the way for new initiatives, working practices, product ranges and efficiency. You will also lead a team of 6 staff including HR functions, recruitment, rota planning, reviews and training plans.
This is a very hands-on customer facing role leading by example and developing the team with training and product knowledge where necessary.
Working hours will be full-time 5 days out of 7 days on a 4 week rota including weekend work, an average of around 40hrs per week. Business hours are currently 7am-7pm Monday to Saturday & 8am-5pm Sunday.
As a 7 day per week retail operation flexibility to working hours will largely be dictated by the needs of the business.
The Person
You will be a positive and proactive person with an eye for detail. A strong leader with high standards and a hard work ethos passionate about retail.
Most likely you will come from a Petrol Retailer, Supermarket, Department Store, Agricultural Merchant, DIY Chain or Convenience Brand background with at least 5 years management experience of at least Supervisor or Assistant Manager level or an existing experianced Manager looking for a new challange.
