The role
As we continue to grow in size, scale and complexity, we\'re looking for an expert Finance Manager to join our Finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, Product Control, this newly created role will be responsible for setting up and leading our cash reconciliations control function to ensure timely and accurate reporting of bank account balances across the world.
The successful candidate will be joining at an exciting time as we invest in strengthening our Accounting operations capabilities and improve the quality and robustness of balance sheet reporting, particularly standardisation and automation of reconciliations.

How you\'ll make an impact

  • Build, develop and document BAU cash reconciliation processes across our GL ensuring effective operation and control across all our trading bank accounts.
  • Recruit, train and develop a team of analysts and support their ongoing development to fulfil their potential within their roles.
  • Review and challenge the control outputs from the team with a focus on identifying discrepancies, find appropriate solutions and initiate corrective actions.
  • Effectively partner with broader Finance and Treasury teams in the resolution and implementation of end to end solutions.
  • You will actively work on improving data integrity and quality, automation, strengthening of controls, operational and reporting efficiency.
  • Implement tactical as well as long term solutions to improve the robustness of our reconciliation processes.
  • As the SME, you will ensure our processes and controls are robust and will meet audit requirements.
  • Provide clarity and assurance to key stakeholders on the status of the team\'s outputs.
Qualifications

What we\'re looking for
Successful candidates will bring experience of leading and delivering financial accounting and operational processes at scale in complex, regulatory environments, ideally within traditional finance, banking or payments/fintech. They are able to adapt in a high-volume and dynamic environment, juggling multiple deliverables whilst maintaining accuracy and quality of output.
  • University Degree in Economics, Accounting or equivalent
  • 8+ years of financial accounting, reconciliations and controls experience ideally within a listed environment or large complex company.
  • Strong people leader with a track record of leading a sizeable team with varied skills/experience.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry accounting
  • Extremely strong working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong data analytics skills and experience handling large volumes of data
  • Systems knowledge, particularly Workday would be highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the payments industry and/or Fintech would be beneficial
