Job Purpose
As part of the National Wealth Fund's mission to support net zero transition and drive local and regional economic growth, the Banking & Investments Team deploys loans, guarantees and equity investments for projects that align to our mandate.
Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Leeds office
Salary: 60,000 - 85,000

As a Manager in the NWF Banking & Investments Team, you will support and lead elements of the origination, due diligence and closing of these complex, bespoke transactions. You will work with colleagues across functions in the Fund to ensure transactions are managed effectively to maximise impact.
Core Responsibilities:Transaction Execution: Work as a proactive member of deal teams, driving delivery of workstreams and collaborating with colleagues across the Fund to meet project deadlines. Paper Drafting: Lead the drafting of internal investment papers, which assess the commercial, financial, policy and impact viability of transactions. Due Diligence: Assess due diligence reports provided by technical, commercial, legal, financial and other advisors. Financial Modelling: Lead the interrogation of external models and build internal models to assess the commercial viability, risk and bankability of transactions. Market Engagement: Assist in external engagement with investors, developers, banks and industry by maintaining a strong awareness of market trends. Internal Collaboration: Develop positive working relationships with colleagues across the Fund, interfacing in an open, constructive and collaborative manner. Lead and Mentor: Act as a role model for junior team members and provide coaching on technical skills. Professional Development: Proactively commit to gaining experience and knowledge on transactions and through training opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceCareer Experience: Some experience in corporate finance, professional services or industry, relevant to NWF's transactions, products and/or sectors. Financial Analysis: Understanding of financial statements, valuation and modelling techniques. Experience building, interrogating and reviewing complex financial models. Commercial Expertise: Proficient in understanding, digesting, and analysing complex information and data. Attention to Detail: Demonstrates consistent accuracy and thoroughness across deliverables. Organisational Skills: Capable of prioritising tasks effectively and managing competing deadlines. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including strong report writing skills. Teamwork and Leadership: Skilled in working collaboratively within cross-functional teams and co-ordinating junior deal teams. Relationship Building: Confident in establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Training will be given in financial modelling and analysis to help candidates to develop their skills.
