Working with the Client Development and Sales (CD&S) organisation and reporting into the Executive Director Buy Side EMEA, the Manager Buy Side EMEA is responsible for sale and revenue generation of CME Group products and services to client accounts in the Buy Side customer segment that include Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Insurance companies, Pension Funds, Endowments, Investment Trusts and Sovereign Wealth Funds.

Sales activities will mainly consist active account management within a portfolio of existing customer accounts, but may also include new client origination within existing and prospective accounts.

As part of CD&S the Manager will follow CD&S processes including but not limited to Salesforce reporting, pipeline management, account management, campaign management, cross referral and cross selling, country plan management and other initiatives.

The Manager will ensure they continuously develop their product and service acumen across all asset classes and CME products.

The role may involve managing clients based in countries across Europe, Middle East and Africa involving national and international travel up to a maximum of 30% of a salesperson\'s time.

The Position will be responsible for:

  • Generating new business from existing and prospective customers by educating them on the benefits and opportunities that CME Group products & services provide to Buy Side organizations.
  • Managing an existing customer portfolio assisting clients deal with all aspects that pertain to CME, building valuable and positive customer relationships by engaging with the appropriate trader and business contacts at each client and prospect within the salesperson\'s account list or region.
  • Plan, participate and engage in sales campaigns
  • Participate in virtual as well as client facing sales and marketing events
  • Cross selling and cross-referring CME products and services, identifying and referring opportunities to the appropriate CD&S sales team
  • Diligently and consistently leverage the CRM system to manage and track sales outreach activity.
  • Leverage internal and external data sources including to track, analyse and report performance against key metrics and activities.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years\' experience in sales and/or a customer support and/or a sales-operations role within the front office of financial services, either at an exchange operator, bank, broker, trading venue or technology vendor.
  • The Manager will have a detailed understanding of Exchange Traded Futures and Options, including one or more areas of Equity, Interest rate, FX, Energy, Agriculture and Metals as well as OTC Cleared Financial products.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the market structure for Listed Exchange and OTC markets
  • Maintains a keen sense of business acumen and demonstrates negotiating skills with the ability to navigate challenging engagements with customers and to come to mutually acceptable outcomes while preserving or even enhancing the customer relationship.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and execute responsibilities to meet or exceed individual and shared team objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, an excellent telephone manner and an ability to easily connect with people using both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented approach with the ability to perform against pre-set individual and team targets.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, LinkedIn, and other industry databases.
  • In addition to English, a second language is a plus, but not a must.
  • Bachelor\'s Degree (or equivalent) with advanced degree preferred.
