Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, resilient and child-focused Registered Manager to lead our Solo Placement Children's Home. This is a unique opportunity to provide highly individualised care to one young person who requires a stable, therapeutic and nurturing environment.

You will play a key role in creating a safe, structured and positive home where the young person can build trusting relationships, develop life skills and work towards long-term stability.



Key Responsibilities:



Provide day-to-day leadership and management of a solo placement home in line with Children's Home Regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements. Deliver a highly personalised, trauma-informed approach to meet the needs of one young person with complex or challenging needs. Lead, support and supervise a small staff team, ensuring excellent communication, consistency and a child-centred approach. Oversee personalised care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments and placement planning. Ensure safeguarding is prioritised at all times, following policies and statutory procedures. Maintain accurate, high-quality records including daily logs, incident reports, audits and regulatory documentation. Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, schools, health services and families where appropriate. Manage staffing levels, budgets and resources to support consistent, high-quality care. Drive continuous improvement and prepare the home for Ofsted inspections.

Requirements



Essential:



Experience working in a children's residential setting, ideally with young people who have complex needs or require solo provision. Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Home Quality Standards and safeguarding frameworks. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills. Ability to remain calm, resilient and solution-focused in challenging situations.

Desirable:



Previous experience managing a solo placement or small residential service. Training in trauma-informed practice, behaviour management or therapeutic support models. Experience supporting children with complex emotional, behavioural or attachment needs.
