Role Overview

The Digital Product Manager (Institutions) will have a pivotal role in shaping the future of language learning products for institutions, through innovative education solutions. They will play a critical part in defining and executing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the key areas of one product or product-category and will be responsible for the overall commercial success of the product.

The Digital Product Manager will use their commercial and technical acumen and effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with engineering, design, and business teams, ensuring that the end-to-end product experience meets the needs of our users. They will bring personalized, innovative and effective learning experiences to life while drawing on their deep understanding of the market and technology trends. This position, working with members of a cross-functional team and with a keen understanding of the competitive/market landscape and customers\' needs, develops and executes the direction for the products within their remit.

Responsibilities

Define product direction to meet customer needs, develop and execute product roadmap for the assigned product / product category.

Responsible for delivering on the product KPIs - including overall P&L, user metrics, quality metrics, budget, etc.

Use product lifecycle methodology and agile best practices aligning to define strategies, aligning them with the overarching ELL strategy and portfolio level plans.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, design, research, and business to set clear requirements around capabilities and content required for the product and deliver successful products that meet the needs of users.

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and research and competitive analysis to inform product decisions and drive product differentiation.

Identify, define and prioritize features and product requirements, including working with stakeholders to understand and prioritize business, technical, and user requirements.

Develop product specifications, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate product vision.

Develop and manage product backlog and prioritization, balancing technical debt with business needs.

Lead cross-functional teams to deliver product development and releases on time and on budget, including working with engineering to ensure product quality and reliability.

Collaborate with marketing, sales, and solution development to develop strategies and execute tactics to drive product adoption and success. Collaborate on development of campaigns to attract new customers and increase share of wallet through progressive pricing, trial and conversion tactics.

Partner with the sales and support teams to drive fidelity of implementation, including product training, customer support and customer implementation resources.

Act as a product expert and communicate product vision, strategy and progress to internal and external stakeholders.

Measure and analyze product performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to drive future product decisions.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement, exploring new and emerging technologies and trends to inform product development and improve the user experience.

Promote a highly collaborative, customer-centric, data-driven culture that challenges norms with a bias to action; support diversity of thoughts, experiences, and approaches to solve issues

Qualifications & Skills

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and successful work experience

Extensive experience in product management and delivering on successful product launches

Strong business and/or technical aptitude, including experience working with tech, UX and commercial teams

Deep understanding of market and user needs, and the ability to translate those into product requirements

Experience in driving product strategy and defining product roadmaps

Proven track record of driving cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable products on time

Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and ability to work closely with design teams

Excellent data analysis skills and experience using data to inform product decisions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior stakeholders

Experience with agile development methodologies

Strong project management skills, including ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to thrive in a collaborative team culture, and have the energy and flexibility to work within a global environment across cultures

Experience of working and thriving in a global matrix organization is a plus

Evident fluency in English, being confident in speaking, reading and writing communication

Understand the Business: Has/develops a knowledge of education business and product development strategies. Brings digital mindset and product management experience to bear in solving challenges and capturing opportunities

Customer centricity: Strong customer empathy and ability to translate customer insights into winning product management strategies. Focus on learner outcomes, and embed efficacy and learning research into solutions

Collaboration: Acts as a member of cross-functional teams with minimal guidance and is able to partner closely with internal as well as external stakeholders
