Manager, Global External Communications

Job Description

Bring True Hospitality to Life Every Day

We're looking for a Global External Corporate Communications Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract and available to start on January 5th 2026. Join our Global Corporate Communications team, where you'll play a key role in protecting and enhancing IHG's reputation around the world. Working with talented communicators across markets and brands, you'll help shape how we tell our corporate story, from financial results to sustainability and social impact, to audiences that matter most.

As Global External Corporate Communications Manager, you'll help deliver IHG's global communications strategy, supporting our purpose, ambition and corporate priorities with creativity, precision and passion. You'll report to the Senior Manager, Global External Corporate Communications, and collaborate with colleagues across Corporate Affairs, HR, and Corporate Responsibility, as well as external agency partners, to ensure consistent, high-quality storytelling and engagement across channels.

What you'll do

Support the execution of IHG's external communications strategy to protect and promote our corporate reputation globally. Manage corporate and CEO social media channels - from planning and content creation to reporting and optimisation. Support communications around key moments such as financial results, gender pay gap reporting and the annual report. Partner with global functions (such as HR and Corporate Responsibility) to develop compelling functional communications. Play a key role in IHG's global press office - handling proactive and reactive media engagement. Prepare materials for senior leaders' external speaking engagements, media interviews and events. Support global crisis communications activity. Collaborate across global, regional and functional teams to ensure alignment on key projects and messages.

What you'll bring

Experience working in a corporate communications team. Proven success managing corporate social media for a large or listed business. Experience supporting senior executives with high-level communications materials. Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail. Experience managing agency partners and delivering against shared objectives. Creativity and confidence using tools such as Canva. A natural curiosity, strong news sense and awareness of key global and industry issues. A true team player, dependable, collaborative and proactive. Passionate about storytelling and digital communications. Comfortable working with ambiguity and tight deadlines. Motivated to grow and develop within a high-performing team.
